Spring is in the air and that means Easter is just around the corner, so nothing like sharing a bunch of recipes perfect to make at home for Easter, it is a time of great importance and joy, blending religious devotion with cultural traditions and community celebration.

As a sidenote, Easter is an important celebration here in Portugal for both religious and cultural reasons. Portugal is a predominantly Catholic country, and Easter is one of the most significant events on the Christian calendar, commemorating the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The week leading up to Easter Sunday, known as Holy Week, is marked by a series of religious processions and ceremonies, particularly in the north of the Country, in the historic cities of Braga and Évora.

In addition to its religious significance, Easter is also an important cultural celebration, it is a time for families to come together, often over a special Easter meal, and to enjoy traditional Easter foods. Many towns and villages also hold Easter fairs and celebrations, featuring traditional crafts and foods, and there are often parades with costumed characters, music, and dancing.

So whether you’re hosting a big family gathering or a cozy brunch for two, why not go the Easter route and choose something of the season, you don’t need to even celebrate to enjoy these delicious recommendations hehehe.
