Ham and Cheese Grilled Toast on Rustic Bread

Nothing like a crunchy buttery toast with gooey cheese and ham, in Portugal tends to be plain ham and flamengo cheese, but go wild and make it your own.
Ingredients
- Bread – 2 Thick Slices (Rustic Bread)
- Ham – 4 Slices
- Flamengo Cheese – 4 Slices
- Parmesan Cheese – A Pinch (Grated)
- Butter – Spread to Taste
Directions
- Start by coating the inside of the slices of bread with ample butter.
- Then top with the ham followed by the Flemish cheese and a sprinkling of Parmesan cheese.
- Place in a toaster oven covered with non-stick paper. This will prevent the toaster from getting too dirty, as a lot of the cheese will come off the outside.
- Let it toast until the cheese and bread are well toasted, if cheese comes out of the toast, use a spoon or knife, to scrape it back into the toast, note that unlike a normal toast that you toast with the sandwich already closed you are toasting here with the sandwich still open, so you literally grill the ham and the cheese, before closing the toast.
- Finally, put both parts together, spread some butter on the outside bread and you are done! Yum 😀
