Halloween Mummy Rolled Sausages

More scary foods for Halloween hehehe, nothing like a cute scary mummy, I know this is a classic and super simple recipe, but sometimes recipes aren’t to give you just instructions, they are a source of inspiration and here is inspiration to roll some puff pastry around some sausages hehehe.

Also, I kinda like the combination, the trick here is to get a really nice snappy tasty sausage, if you use a cheap bland one, even if you serve with some sauces (something I recommend), so get a nice puff pastry brand and some awesome sausages and make yourself some yummy sausage mummies for Halloween!

How about some Halloween Mummy Rolled Sausages with puff pastry a delicious snack for any party.

  • Puff Pastry – 1 Rectangular Roll
  • Sausage – 6 (Large Bockwurst type)
  • Mayonnaise – To Taste
  • Mustard – To Taste
  • Ketchup – To Taste

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 °C (or whatever the puff pastry package recommends) and line a baking tray with non-stick paper.
  2. Cut the puff pastry into 6 strips, stretch these out with a rolling pin, then fold over to make long strips of puff pastry.
  3. Drain the sausages and dry them well with some kitchen paper, then roll each sausage with the puff pastry, leaving a space at the top for the eyes of the mummy, arrange on the baking tray.
  4. Repeat with the remaining sausages and bake in the oven for about 20 minutes until they begin to turn golden brown. Put a few drops of ketchup, mayonnaise, or mustard for the eyes, and they’re ready to serve.
Notes: You can also do a version with regular sausages if you want to make a pile of mini puff pastry mummies. You can also brush the puff pastry with beaten egg if you want it more golden, even if it loses a bit of the mummy aspect, hehehe.
