Garlic Steak with Fava Beans
Fava beans are a nutritious and tasty vegetable that are worth trying if you haven't before. With the right preparation and cooking methods, they can be a delicious addition to any dish.
Ingredients
- Beef – 1 Steak
- Chorizo – 10 Thin Slices
- Fava Beans – 150gr (Broad Beans, Peeled and Skinned)
- Garlic – 1 clove
- Olive Oil – 1 Pinch
- Thyme – A pinch
- Paprika – One Pinch
- Pepper – One Pinch
- Salt – One Pinch
Directions
- Start with the fava beans, wash and peel the skin, also remove the outer skin/membrane and cut about 10 thin slices of a good chorizo such as the Portuguese Lamego chorizo.
- Add the fava beans and the chorizo in a frying pan, season with a little olive oil, paprika, salt and pepper, and cook until the broad beans are very tender, about 10 to 12 minutes.
- Season both sides of the steak with thinly sliced garlic, thyme, salt and pepper, in another pan add a drizzle of olive oil and fry the steak, when nicely browned turn and fry until both sides are browned and medium rare inside.
