I think oatmeal is a good addition to any cookie, you get a slightly chewy texture due to the oats, while the chocolate chips provide a sweet and decadent flavor. The combination of the two creates a unique combination of sweetness and crumbly chewyness.

Additionally, oatmeal cookies can be a slightly healthier alternative to other types of cookies since they contain whole grain oats, which are a good source of fiber and also make the cookies more filling, so you will feel like eating less cookies 🙂

Also, I made these boys or girls quite chunky because I also cut the chocolate chunky I do like already made chocolate chips, but I feel like cutting your own chocolate makes it more interesting, so cookies will have little pieces and others huge nuggets of chocolate, I like that variation! Chunky Oatmeal Chocolate Cookies

If you enjoy a nice crunchy chocolate chip cookie, then this chocolate chip oatmeal cookie recipe might be be a delicious treat for you to enjoy.

Ingredients

  • Egg – 1
  • Butter – 110gr
  • Oats – 100gr
  • Flour – 150gr
  • Dark Chocolate – 100gr
  • Brown Sugar – 110g
  • Baking Soda – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt – A pinch

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 175°C and prepare a baking tray lined with non-stick paper.
  2. In a bowl add the brown sugar, egg and butter at room temperature, whisk everything well.
  3. Then add the bicarbonate and the sifted flour, mix well.
  4. Finally, add the oat flakes and the chocolate broken into pieces, mix well.
  5. Mold dough balls (try and make sure they are all more or less the same weight, so that they will bake evenly) and place them on the baking tray, bake for 10 to 11 minutes until they are golden brown, remove from the oven and let them cool a little before eating, bon appétit! ;D
Notes: These are also good without the chocolate of adding dried fruits or raisins.
