Nothing beats using up that bag of shrimp hiding in your freezer with some tender pasta, am I right? These kinds of recipes are totally worth it, and unlike at restaurants, here we don’t skimp on the shrimp, this is all about going overboard! I didn’t even need to add the imitation crab, but since that package was almost finished as well, why waste it? Plus, the crab sticks always add another texture and make the recipe a bit more balanced and interesting.
You can see this recipe is basically shrimp scampi mixed with some pasta, it’s simple and delicious, besides that also unlike restaurants you don’t have a heavy sauce filled with calories, it’s light and rich, perfect for a night in! Hehehehe also you can easily swap the shrimp or imitation crab for other seafood like scallops, lobster, or even a seafood mix, whatever floats your boat! So let’s get to the recipe!
Quick Garlic Shrimp and Imitation Crab Tagliatelle Pasta

Nothing like a light delicious pasta dish with tons of seafood and lots of garlic i know... pretty Mediterranean style ;D
Ingredients
- Tagliatelle Pasta – 200g
- Shrimps – 150g (Already Peeled, Deveined)
- Imitation Crab – 4 Sticks (Thawed)
- Onion – 1 Small
- Garlic – 5 Cloves
- Olive Oil – To Taste
- Cilantro – A Pinch
- Pepper – A Pinch
- Salt – A Pinch
Directions
- This is a quick recipe. Start by cooking the tagliatelle in a pan over medium/high heat with plenty of hot water and a pinch of salt. When the pasta is tender, drain it and add the pasta to the garlic, shrimp, and olive oil mixture.
- When the pasta is about 5 minutes away from being ready, cover the bottom of a frying pan with olive oil and add the sliced garlic and onion. Let this fry just a little (if it starts to brown too much, remove it from the oil and add it back in towards the end; you don’t want burnt garlic) and give the olive oil some aroma.
- Then add the shrimp and, depending on their size, fry for about 1 to 2 minutes on each side. When the shrimp are almost ready, add the sliced imitation crab, just to color and heat them up, and season everything with salt and pepper.
- Finally add the tagliatelle to the pan, mix everything together well and season with a pinch of chopped coriander. It’s now ready to serve. Bon appétit!

Don’t crowd the shrimp in the pan – cook in batches if needed for the best sear.
Save some pasta water before draining; it’s liquid gold for loosening up the sauce if needed.
Fresh herbs make all the difference, if you can’t find cilantro, parsley works beautifully too.
For extra richness, finish with a knob of butter and a splash of white wine This recipe doubles easily for a crowd, just use a bigger skillet or work in batches.
