I bought all the ingredients to make a pizza, nothing beats a beautiful homemade pepperoni pizza… but when it came time to make it, well there’s no shortage of pizza recipes here on the blog, so I decided to get a little creative! In this case, it’s a cupcake with pizza flavor hehehe and I have to admit it came out 5 stars!
The recipe is simple, a typical savory cupcake batter, then I divided 2/3 into the regular batter, and 1/3 I mixed with tomato sauce and spices, and finally topped each cupcake with a generous dose of mozzarella cheese and pepperoni. The end result is a fluffy, slightly sweet cupcake that when you get to the sauce part, you get that spicy tomato hit with cheese and pepperoni it tastes… like a pizza cupcake hahahaha always innovating! pat pat on my back ;D
Oh, and after making them I froze half and they defrosted without any problems. You can also pop them in the oven to toast them a bit more, so it’s also a great recipe for picnics or snacks, it’s always something a little different! These delicious savory cupcakes are perfect for birthday parties, gatherings, or whenever you want to surprise everyone with something that looks like a pizza but is actually a cupcake. Let’s get to the recipe!
Homemade Pepperoni Pizza Cupcakes

Is it pizza, is it a cupcake hahahaah, well both are delicious and this original creation was pretty yummy too ;D Gotta try it yourself!
Ingredients
- Flour – 300g
- Baking Powder – 1 Teaspoon
- Eggs – 4 L
- Milk – 200ml
- Olive Oil – 50ml
- Tomato Pulp – 4 Tablespoons
- Oregano – A Pinch
- Black Pepper – A Pinch
- Paprika – A Pinch
- Sweet Paprika – A Pinch
- Piri-Piri Sauce – To Taste (or Cayenne Pepper)
- Pepperoni – 20 Slices (or salami)
- Mozzarella Cheese – 100g
- Salt – 3 Teaspoons
Directions
- Start by preparing the dough in a large bowl, add the flour, baking powder, and salt, and mix.
- Then add the eggs, milk, and olive oil, and mix everything well until creamy.
- Remove 1/3 of the dough to a smaller bowl, add the tomato pulp, black pepper, paprika, sweet pepper, and piri-piri sauce, mix everything together, and this will be the “pizza sauce.”
- Line 12 muffin tins with non-stick paper and preheat the oven to 350°F (180ºC).
- Pour the muffin batter into each cup, followed by the muffin batter with tomato sauce.
- Sprinkle each one with mozzarella and slices of pepperoni (it was large so I cut it into strips) and finally a pinch of dried oregano.
- Bake for about 20/22 minutes until golden brown. Enjoy!

These freeze beautifully! Just wrap individually and freeze for up to 3 months.
You can reheat leftovers in the oven at 300°F for 5-7 minutes to crisp them up again.
The two-layer effect creates a beautiful visual when you bite into them or cut them in half.
Don’t overmix the batter once you add the wet ingredients to keep them fluffy.
Feel free to adjust the spice level in the tomato layer to your preference These are perfect for lunchboxes, picnics, or party appetizers.
