Let’s delve into the world of Piri-Piri, a zesty Portuguese hot sauce, designed to spice up chicken dishes! Today, I decided to whip up some tantalizingly spicy roasted chicken breasts. After they were cooked to perfection, one breast i served with rice and salad, and the other i mixed with some spaghetti, both alongside some of the caramelized onions.
Incase you dont know Piri-Piri or Peri-Peri sauce, made of malagueta pepper (a type of chilli pepper) originated in Portuguese Colonial Africa, and then become popular and traveled to other portuguese domains at the time, like Brazil or São Tomé e Principe, including of course Portugal, where it quickly became a favorite seasoning for grilling and roasting.
I might have taken the spice level a notch higher, but remember, adjust according to your taste buds! You can also swap out the piri-piri for a different kick, like pepper or cayenne. Piri-Piri offers a delightful heat without overwhelming your palate. If you prefer a less aggressive flavor, explore your spice rack and mix up your heat with different seasonings, let’s check the recipe.
